PYO Perform in Perth, 16 March 2026

Perth Youth Orchestra will be performing at Perform in Perth in Perth Concert Hall on Monday 16 March as part of the Band Day.
 
The performance will be at approximately 8.40pm therefore can I please ask if all performers can please arrive at Perth Concert Hall by 8.15pm.  Please wear PYO uniform.
 
Rehearsals will resume in the North Inch Community Campus on Monday 23 March.

Reminder no Central Groups 11 & 12 February 2026

Please be reminded there are no Central Groups rehearsals on tonight or tomorrow, 11 & 12 February, due to In Service Day and mid term break.

Rehearsals will resume next week, w/b 16 February 2026.

Due to the upcoming In Service Day and mid-term break, there will be no Central Groups rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 & 12 February.  Rehearsals will resume the following week, w/b 16 February 2026.

Perth Youth Orchestra rehearsals will take place as usual on Monday 9 February 2026.
 

PYO Ceilidh, 21 February 2026

Dear PYO parents/carers
 
A reminder that the PYO Ceilidh will be Saturday, 21st February, 7pm - 10pm in St Matthew's church hall, Tay Street, Perth. 
 
Tickets will be available to purchase during PYO rehearsal on Monday 26th January and at the door on the night. 
 
Adult £10
Child/student £6
Family up to 5 members £25
 
We will hold a raffle at the ceilidh and tickets will be available on the night. 
 
As before, PYO committee are asking parents to be involved and to help on the night. We would also be grateful for raffle prize donations.

No Central Groups this evening, 22 January 2026

Due to flooding on roads in the Perth & Kinross area, unfortunately there will be no Central Groups rehearsals this evening, Thursday 22 January 2026, as all transport has been cancelled.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this.

Rehearsals will resume next Thursday, 29 January 2026.

Reminder - Central Groups have now finished until after the New Year.  Rehearsals will resume on Wednesday 7 January 2026

PYO AGM - 2/12/25 @ 7pm, North Inch Campus, Perth

Dear Parents and Members of PYO,

I hope this message finds you all well, and that the musicians have had good rehearsals thus far. 

You are cordially invited to the Annual General Meeting of Perth Youth Orchestra that will take place on 2 December in the Lecture Theatre,  North Inch Community Campus at 7pm.

We are dependent on parents/carers of PYO musicians to get involved and support the committee so that we can continue efforts to provide our musicians with varied opportunities to perform, for example, at the Fringe in Edinburgh or as part of future tours. Currently, several members of the committee no longer have musicians in the orchestra or have S6 pupils who will leave next year. If we are not able to find additional volunteers, we face the very real possibility that the PYO committee will disband.

Central Groups are on Thursday 13/11/25

Central Groups rehearsals are on next Thursday, 13 November 2025 (In Service Day).

All rehearsal and concert dates can be viewed on our Instrumental Music Service App and website www.pkcmusic.com/dates as well as our Central Groups Letter 2025-26 which can be downloaded from www.pkcmusic.com/resources

As there are only 3 Thursday rehearsals left until the Christmas concerts, it would be very much appreciated to have as maximum attendance at all rehearsals where possible.  A reminder of who is performing at each concert is below.

PYO Bag Packing & Busking, 7/12/25

PYO have a fabulous opportunity to raise essential funds by bag packing at the Morrisons in Perth. In addition to bag packers, we have permission to feature small groups of musicians busking outside the store (we're thinking Christmas carols might be nice...)

What: Bag Packing and Busking
Date: 7th December 2025.
Time: 10am til 4pm
Place: Morrisons, Caledonian Road, Perth PH15XD 

We are dependent on both parents/carers and orchestra members to take a one hour slot during that time.
