Buses leave prompt from Music Centre, North Inch Community Campus, Perth at 12.00pm.  Kinross children will be picked up at 12.30pm at Kinross park and ride, returning approx 10.10pm.  Perth pupils will return approx 10.40pm.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Prior to the concert in Edinburgh all the players are going to COSMO at the Omni Centre for the world’s buffet dinner. It offers a wide variety of food choices and allergens are all clearly marked. The PYO Committee are subsidising this outing and are asking for a contribution of £15 per person.  Due to a change in management policy, this year it will not be possible to buy drinks separately, but water will be provided for the tables.  Payments are due at the rehearsal on 18 August in the North Inch Campus or on the day prior to the rehearsal at Greyfriar’s Kirk. If you have any dietary requirements, please let a member of staff know when making payment. This is a lovely social event for all the orchestra that is always greatly enjoyed.

Message from the Young Musicians' Parents' Association (YMPA)

Dear Parents and Carers of our Perth and Kinross young musicians

The YMPA (Young Musicians' Parents' Association) would like to thank you for your generous donations at the recent Central Groups and Senior Music Camp concerts - we raised £988.

However we will be unable to continue to fundraise to support our young musicians without new volunteers, since after the Summer we will only have 2 parents still with young people at school and involved with the Instrumental Music Service (IMS). Our fundraising activities involve taking a donation bucket collection at the Spring concerts and providing refreshments at the December Mulled Wine concert - not exactly onerous tasks if you are already attending the concert and there are enough willing helpers to share the responsibility.

Over the last year the YMPA has provided financial support of over £6,000 to the IMS so that they can purchase music tuition materials, replacement woodwind reeds, replacement brass instrument mouthpieces, replacement violin and double bass strings, cases for musical instruments, replacement instruments and Central Groups ties - none of which they would have been able to provide to our young musicians without our funding. The YMPA has also subsidised places at Music Camp for a number of young musicians who would not otherwise have been able to attend.

Do you want this important support for our young musicians to be lost ? If not then please get in touch to find out how you can help the YMPA keep going - email : ympaperth@gmail.com

Thank you from the Young Musicians' Parents' Association.
